We all know we're in the season of planting, right? Yet, we're also in a season of harvesting and Preserving. So…
You're invited to join Rose (who you may remember as Walk in the Woods) and Farmer Melody for an hour exploration of the Foods and Medicines that we're already harvesting to store for the months ahead. Rose will share a bit about what she's putting by this June, some of the ways she'll be making use of those preserves (with methods other than canning), and will demonstrate her preferred method for creating an herbal salt that you can easily create at home from your current and future harvests.

Intro to growing Medicinal Herbs: Focus on seed saving.
This workshop will cover seed starting, growing, and harvesting of some favorite medicinal and culinary herbs. We’ll cover agro-ecology, mycorrhizal inoculants, favorites for pollinators, cold stratification, tools and direct sew versus transplanting. We'll talk about some the tricks for "fussy germinators" as well as a brief tour of the farm and the herb mandala. We’ll also be focusing on some farmer favorites that offer easier opportunities for New England seed saving.
