This hands-on workshop is designed for participants to learn the difference between medicinal oils, salves, and liniment from fresh or dried herbs. The workshop will cover basic information about a variety of herbs commonly found in topical applications. We will go through the process of making a salve from a medicinal oil from a selection of locally grown herbs. We will also briefly cover some other common herbs that can be used for topical applications. Each participant will leave with new knowledge and their very own custom made 1 oz salve, which would be valued at approximately @ $10.
***Each participant will also have the opportunity to participate in making 1 oz Calendula salves to be donated to a local women's homeless shelter. This idea is based on Deb Soule's "Grow a Row" project; more information on this grassroots effort can be found at https://www.debsoule.com/projects
