Pleasant Valley Botanicals and Twin Star Herbal Education will be presenting a workshop at the CT NOFA (Northeast Organic Farmers' Association) Winter Conference on March 11, 2017, "Introduction to Growing and Using Medicinal and Culinary Herbs". This session covers some of our favorite medicinal and culinary herbs to grow in CT. Focus is on basic growing information, traditional uses of these herbs, and incorporating herbs into one's diet and lifestyle or overall well-being.  We will highlight herbs that are pollinator friendly and fairly easy to grow. Pleasant Valley Botanicals will also be giving a talk on Growing Medicinal and Culinary Herbs at Twin Star as part of their Wise Woman Wednesday's (and Wise Guys too) lecture series on Wed March 8, 2017. This lecture will have more in-depth herbal monographs, as well as cover topics such as obtaining seeds, inside seed starting versus starting seeds in the garden, the unusual requirements of some herbs such as cold stratification, weeds and pests, how to harvest and preserve your herbs, how to promote pollinators, seed saving, and favorite resources.
