MEDICINAL AND CULINARY HERB PLANT SALE 2020

Just added: pre-ordering system now in place (and even encouraged)! You must pick the sale you will be attending to place an order. However payment method choice is easily changed at time of sale. I am "trying" to add pictures and descriptions of plants to the website, to help make selections virtually.

PLEASE NOTE THE IMPORTANCE OF SELECTING THE CORRECT DATE FOR YOU ORDER!

• If you are a CSA member and have made special arrangements with me (you know who you are) then please pick Thursday May 28 as your order cycle.
• If you are coming to the Simsbury sale at Shepherd of the Hills in Simsbury please pick Friday May 29 as your order cycle.
• If you are a Twin Star student and coming the the Twin Star sale in New Milford please pick Sat May 30 as your order cycle.
• If you are coming to the Winsted sale at Little Red Barn Brewery in Winsted please pick Sun May 31 as your order cycle.
• Also if there was something sold out that you were interested in, please feel free to list in the "comments" section. There are definitely plants that I can still pot up more off if there is enough demand. This will help me know so I can add to the inventory or do a second sale in June.
• There are lots of rules to play nicely in the sandbox these days, and that includes with Pleasant Valley Botanicals. Please take time to read all the nitty gritty details below.

FRIDAY MAY 29:
Shepherd of the Hills Church, 7 Wescott Road, Simsbury CT
3 pm- 3: 30 pm: Plant Protector  1/2 Hour
3:30 pm- 6 pm: general plant sale

There is ample free parking at the Church with two lots and a circular drive. This is an entirely outside location. Will occur regardless of rain, unless it is unsafe thunder/lightning/gail force winds/zombies.

SATURDAY MAY 30:
The Makery, hosted by Twin Star School of Herbal and Energetic Studies. Please note this sale is ONLY for pre-orders as it is an inside location. There will NOT be any extra herbs for sale at this event, so if you didnt pre-order, please come to Winsted or Simsbury.

20 Bank Street, New Milford CT
11am- 12 noon: Plant Protector Hour
12 noon- 2pm: general plant sale

This is a large inside location to help manage flow; line may be outside on sidewalk. Parking on street or large nearby municipal lot.

SUNDAY MAY 31:
The Little Red Barn Brewery, co-hosted by Little Red Barn, Mad River Market Coop and Walk in the Woods LLC

This is the best option if you are not interested in pre-ordering, as it is closest to home and allows me to restock items if needed. Also- you can get beer!

This is an entirely outside location. Will occur regardless of rain, unless it is unsafe thunder/lightning/gail force winds/zombies. If parking lot is full, there is additional parking on Meadow Street. Little Red Barn currently have Crowler curbside pickup and may have outdoor dining by then. There may be 1-2 other farmers present as well. Stay tuned for details!

PRICING: $6 per plant

Plants are either larger square pots (9x9cm) or 4 or 6 packs. I just heard on news that this was the coldest Spring (marked April 15- May 12) in 115 years of record keeping. Many of the plants are still on the small side. So just imagine a tiny plant and then if it is bigger than that, you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Tomatoes: $4/each

The larger square pots are either “Fertil” pots or coconut coir pots, both designed to be planted in the ground with the plant where they become part of the root ball and compost in place.

• Checks made to "Melody Wright" is preferred, cash accepted (try to bring some smaller bills to make exact change), no credit card at all at this time. I am exploring options for that at this time.
• Per Gov Lamont directive: Please wear a face mask. The only excuse is if you are not medically able to wear one safely. Please don't be full of yourself. If you can wear one please do. Please do your very best to stay 6-8 feet from your neighbor. Sometimes with masks on it is easy to forget this precaution.
• Please bring your own box/crate to transport your plants home.
• I am gladly accepting back small 3-6 " square and round pots and intact reusable plastic plant flats and 6 packs. If you would like to recycle back, please have nicely rinsed, stacked and in a box or bag you can leave with me. NO big quart or hanging pot planters. Please use your judgment and don't just dump trash pots or giant pots on me cause you feel bad that they cant be recycled :)
  
• All our plants are grown with love and our seeds are from sources that have taken the safe-seed pledge or are otherwise reliable (*). However, if harvesting for culinary or medicinal purposes it is still YOUR responsibility to ensure proper identification as other adventurous seeds and weed seeds CAN and DO make their way into potting soil, neighboring seedling flats and pots, and garden beds (**). Any information presented here or during the sale is not intended to diagnosis, prevent, cure or treat any medical condition nor make any medical claims about the safety or efficacy of herbs.
• Any previous Pleasant Valley Botanicals CSA member receives one free seedling (your choice) just for stopping by- no purchase necessary.
