Introduction to growing medicinal herbs: focus on the immune system.

This workshop will cover growing and processing of some favorite medicinal herbs, with a focus on plants for the immune system. Exited to start a garden, and want to make sure you are including easy to use medicinal plants? Gardening already, but want to incorporate more medicinal herbs? This workshop is designed for you! We will cover topic such: as cold stratification of seeds, harvesting techniques for herbal medicine making, creating successful habitat for pollinators, choosing multifunctionality in plants, basic of agroecology, and more. We will also explore what plants might bring us the best healing remedies, with a focus on growing for home made teas and tincture. We will highlight some favorite herbs for developing your own home apothecary, including Holy Basil (Tulsi), Thyme, Spilanthes, Echinacea, Hyssop officinalis and ingredients for free fire cider! Finally, we will cover additional educational resources, and participants will go home with a small selection of medicinal herb seeds.
